Remove the gasket and its remnants. Sink 50mm 2 inch cap. Many of today s drainpipes are pvc. If the floor flange for the toilet is set in concrete the job will be a lot more difficult than if it s on the second floor for example and the flooring can be removed to permanently close off the pipe.

Turn off the feed valve drain the water from the tank unhook the feed line and remove the anchoring bolts with a wrench. Measure from the end of each pipe and make a depth marking as directed by the push on fitting manufacturer. Pull the toilet up and out of the way. Slice off a bit of the top of the pipe embedded in the floor. You could also probably chip it out with a knife sharp chisel. This will involve removing a portion of the surrounding concrete removing the floor flange which may have to be cut out and then the capping the pipe.

Unscrew sink lift away. Water pipe 1pm caps. Plumbers will stock caps you will need to measure across pipe axample 100m 4 inch main pipe cap. Cap the pipes.

If the top of the plug still sticks out above the floor you can get an internal pvc pipe cutter which is like a rotary dremel circular saw blade on a drill shaft. The mark will tell you when the fitting is pushed on all the way which is essential for a proper seal.
